GatesAir Over-The-Air Solutions Support FM Network Expansion in Israel
Israeli Ministry of Defense selects GatesAir due to company's ability to provide turnkey radio solutions for multiple transmitter sites

(IBC2014, September 12-16, Stand 8.B10) — GatesAir, a global leader in over-the-air broadcast solutions for radio and television, will exclusively support a multi-site expansion of an existing FM Radio network for the Israeli Ministry of Defense (IMOD). The complete turnkey solution includes high-efficiency GatesAir Flexiva™ FM transmitters across five power levels, with third-party antennas, cabling and accessories for local tower sites. The new transmitters will be deployed throughout Israel to improve and maximize coverage, extending an FM radio network that includes GatesAir transmitters at many existing sites.
GatesAir won the multi-million dollar contract based on its ability to supply a turnkey FM network solution manufactured in the United States that delivers the lowest total cost of ownership – all key requirements. IMOD will also enjoy minimal footprints and reduced utility costs based on the green operational benefits of Flexiva transmitters. Additionally, modular deliveries will allow IMOD engineers to quickly install and deploy the transmitters upon receiving shipments, with all sites live in a short period of time.
Bezeq, the largest telecommunications network in Israel, operates the FM network on behalf of IMOD. The high-efficiency, broadband Flexiva designs, based on the groundbreaking GatesAir PowerSmart® 3D architecture, will simplify and reduce ongoing maintenance requirements for Bezeq through hot-swappable modules and power supplies, fewer spare parts, lighter weights and other sensible design attributes.

We will easily install these transmitters within very tight facilities based on the Flexiva’s impressively light footprint.”
The Flexiva transmitters will cover power requirements for 1kW, 2kW, 5kW 10kW and 20kW. Each transmitter will include built-in Flexiva FAX exciters to maximize performance and signal quality transmitted to audiences from the new sites.
