GatesAir Debut at IWCE Showcases Intelligent Networking for Public Safety

Trusted reliability of Intraplex® solutions ease network stability concerns upon transition to IP
Cincinnati, OH, February 25, 2015

GatesAir comes to IWCE in March with new network redundancy capability for its Intraplex® public safety portfolio, enhancing the safety of emergency responders and private citizens in mission-critical situations. In addition, the new modules provide the trusted reliability and increased stability that emergency response teams require to accelerate transitions to lower-cost, highly available IP networks worldwide.

GatesAir, which exhibited for many years at IWCE as Harris Broadcast, a former division of Harris Corporation, will address network redundancy with two new modules for its Intraplex NetXpress™ signal transport solutions:

“We serve an industry where reliability is at a premium,” said Rich Redmond, chief product officer, GatesAir. “Intraplex solutions have long supported public safety systems with trusted reliability. Our customers include some of the world’s largest in terms of geographical coverage, number of sites and users, and total amount of voice and data channels. Our new NetXpress enhancements address the performance issues in next-generation IP networks that are important to the mission-critical nature of the systems our customers operate.”

GatesAir’s Intraplex multiplexers differ from competitive systems by supporting both legacy TDM (T1/E1) and IP networks for public safety communications. The company’s flagship NetXpress system provides both T1/E1 and IP ports, enabling emergency responders to use the same hardware for gradual IP transitions. The IP-only NetXpress LX is ideal for customers ready for a strictly IP system that provides exceptional reliability and low total cost of ownership. The transition to an all-IP system not only simplifies communications across more locations—reducing reliance on legacy Telco connections—but eliminates the higher monthly costs of transporting signals over T1 or E1 networks.

Above all, both NetXpress and NetXpress LX ensure that law enforcement, fire departments, and other emergency response agencies can reliably dispatch real-time voice and data across multiple locations and land mobile radio systems.  Furthermore, both systems offer seamless scalability at a low cost as new channels and services are added; incorporate built-in synchronization across locations with Intraplex SynchroCast3™ technology; and virtually eliminate maintenance due to highly reliable functionality.

“Intraplex solutions ensure that sites and systems are never off the air, vastly increasing the safety of emergency responders and potentially saving citizen lives,” said Redmond. “Whether the system is simplex, duplex or multi-site, voted or simulcast, or operating on a TDM or IP backbone, Intraplex delivers the extremely high level of service that this market requires.”

Visitors to the GatesAir booth at IWCE (March 18-20, Las Vegas Convention Center, Booth #2035) can see the entire Intraplex NetXpress portfolio, including the new network redundancy modules to enhance system-wide connectivity.
