Harris Broadcast Features Radio Broadcast Efficiency at 2013 NAB Show

Harris Broadcast comes to Las Vegas next month to showcase technologies for improved market coverage, cleaner over-the-air sound and integrated studio architectures, with new product enhancements and its first MaxxCasting demonstration for large audiences.

MaxxCasting was introduced last month as a joint solution with Geo-Broadcast Solutions to maximize audience reach, allowing broadcasters to fully utilize their FCC spectrum allotments. The MaxxCasting architecture employs corresponding transmission and control technologies to increase signal coverage via efficient, single-frequency networks — often more effectively than traditional booster technologies.

Harris Radio Taking to the Road

Harris Broadcast opens a six-week road show on February 5. Harris representatives will explore technology trends and current engineering challenges in the radio broadcast industry and discuss revenue generation through MaxxCasting, the company's new joint initiative with Geo-Broadcast Solutions to maximize FM signal coverage.

Harris MaxxCasting Solution Boost FMs Radio Signal Coverage

Harris Broadcast and Geo-Broadcast Solutions (GBS) are touting a solution based on GBS' ZoneCasting strategy that allows radio broadcasters to maximize market-wide signal penetration and revenue opportunities today — even as the industry awaits FCC approval for ZoneCasting.

The MaxxCasting solution uses a network topology similar to the ZoneCasting architecture for targeted, over-the-air radio broadcasting, but instead focuses on simulcasting content to improve coverage.
