GatesAir Announces Second Annual Customer Event, Conference Presentations for 2016 NAB Show
Industry thought leaders lead the charge on education, discussion around trends shaping the future of over-the-air broadcasting
Cincinnati, OH, April 07, 2016
GatesAir, a global leader in wireless, over-the-air content delivery solutions for radio and TV broadcasters, will augment its 2016 NAB Show exhibition presence with a series of educational presentations and its second annual GatesAir Connect NAB customer event. Collectively, the efforts will focus on education and interactive discussions involving the current and future over-the-air broadcast landscape, covering both business and technology-related topics.
From Saturday through Tuesday, GatesAir executives and technologists will present nine papers as part of the Broadcast Engineering Conference. Topics include how the TV spectrum repack will affect both television and radio broadcasters, including RF plant preparations and an FCC spectrum auction update. Additionally, GatesAir thought leaders will present four papers around the next-generation ATSC 3.0 DTV standard, including advanced emergency alerting and an engineering focus on physical layer testing in the field. For radio broadcasters, a standalone paper on Audio over IP networking will offer a strategic look at intelligent distribution of analog and digital FM composite signals. A complete list of GatesAir presentations and speakers can be found here.
GatesAir will hold it second annual GatesAir Connect NAB customer event on Sunday, April 17 from 3-7pm at the Las Vegas Convention Center (Meeting Room N239/241), providing customers with an interactive forum for both education and contribution. GatesAir Connect gives attendees an opportunity to reach beyond their primary sales representatives and communicate with a larger group of company representatives and industry peers away from the exhibit floor noise.
Collectively, the overarching theme of GatesAir Connect will cover how over-the-air broadcasters can leverage advances in transmitter, RF and IP technology to simultaneously reduce costs, develop new services, and accelerate return on investment. The radio portion of the event immediately follows CEO Phil Argyris’ brief keynote address, with forums on liquid-cooled RF systems and network analysis for IP STL connections. The television segment follows at 4pm, with a focus on high-efficiency technology advances for transmitters; and IP-based quality assurance and monitoring for the RF plant. An interactive Q&A and two-hour “Ask The Expert” cocktail reception will follow the forums.
