Harris Plans Radio Technology Summit Road Show
Denver, CO, January 31, 2013
Harris Broadcast will soon commence a multi-week road show that will explore technology trends and current engineering challenges in the radio broadcast industry. Harris representatives will also discuss revenue generation through MaxxCasting, the company’s new joint initiative with Geo-Broadcast Solutions to maximize FM signal coverage.
The tour begins Tuesday, February 5 at the San Diego Marriott Mission Valley hotel, with subsequent stops in Burbank and San Francisco before heading east. The tour will visit key cities in the South, Midwest and along the eastern seaboard through the spring. A complete list of dates and locations can be found on the Harris Broadcast Blog at http://tinyurl.com/becshdc.
Harris experts Geoff Mendenhall, Tim Anderson and Paul Barzizza will offer presentations on the fourth generation of HD Radio™ broadcasting; IP studio architectures; and the advantages of turnkey solutions, project management and preventative maintenance. Additionally, attendees will see hands-on demonstrations of Intraplex® IP Link audio codecs, Flexiva™ transmitters and PR&E® studio consoles.
Lunchtime sessions will focus on MaxxCasting, with a special focus on how general managers and upper management can adopt the technology to increase revenue. MaxxCasting is a network-based technology designed to boost signal coverage today and help stations gain listeners and advertisers. John Kean, senior technologist at NPR Labs, will be present at many stops to provide insight on market analysis and system design.
